Class A fires
Fires caused by ordinary combustible materials, such as wood, cloth, paper, rubber, and many plastics. They burn with an ember and leave an ash.

Class B fires
Fires caused by flammable liquids (burn at room temperature) and combustible liquids (require heat to ignite). Petroleum greases, tars, oils, oil-based paints, solvents, lacquers, alcohols, and flammable gasses.

Class C fires 
Fires caused by fuels that would be A or B except that they involve energized electrical equipment.

Class D fires
Fires are caused by combustible metals such as magnesium, sodium, and potassium. Zirconium Titanium

Class F fires
Fires in which the fire is rapidly expanding and the maximum temperature is reached.

Class G fires
Fires caused by Class B and C fires occurring in the engine compartment.

Class K fires
Fires in cooking appliances that involve combustible cooking media (vegetable or animal oils and fats).
